Well, my shoulder is feeling a lot better, so I decided to head towards Ongar and Birds Green Fishery for an early morning Roach session, when me and my brother woke up and felt the morning cold, and my was it cold, we expected to get there and turn straight back around again, or have maybe 3 hours of nothing and go.
After an early morning cuppa and setting up with numb fingers, we threw in some bread crumb and a few casters and away we went. Within about 10 minutes I caught my first fish, a nice half pound Roach... After a bit of adjusting to get into the deeper water, some bread crumb balls and a smattering of more casters, both our swims went insane with Roach.
We packed up at 3pm, not feeling a bit of cold and both managed to bag a good 25 Roach a piece upto 2Ib's, although my Brother did have a few more and he got the most of the bigger ones, but I was happy as my last catch was a picture worthy 2Ib'er, big smiles.
I very good start to my fishing year and let's hope it continues upto and including the second week in May, which will be our annual trip to AP. _________________ Clear your mind and tight lines
