Massage and Tai Chi

Time for you to relax and enjoy…!

Pippa Cherrington has joined the team at Anglers Paradise and is here to offer massage and add to the relaxation of your holiday.

Massage

What can massage do for me?

A good massage can relieve aches and muscular tension before they change our habits, posture and become chronic pain. Massage is therefore a good preventative treatment.

Specialist massage techniques help aid body repair after injury and change dis-function within the body.

When you book a session you will get a massage based on your needs at the time, so each treatment will be different and individually tailored to help prompt your body to a place of ease.

What would you like to get from your treatment?

Relaxation, pampering, help with injury, difficulty moving a joint, pain relief? Here is a brief explanation of the different types of bodywork I offer and what they aim to help.

SPECIAL OFFER
Pippa is offering a 10% discount to anyone that books two adjacent appointments – so take advantage and treat yourselves!**

The 5 Paradise Treatments

Holistic Massage

A great introduction to massage if you’ve never had a hands-on body treatment before. The classic European massage which uses different techniques to stimulate the circulation, clearing toxins and bringing nutrients to the tissues. The emphasis can be either on relaxation or energising, depending on your needs.

Hot Stone Therapy

A wonderful pampering treatment using hot stones to access deeper tissues, relax tight painful muscles, improve circulation and detoxify. This encourages deep relaxation of both body and mind allowing emotions to come into balance.

Lymphatic Drainage

A specialist treatment to boost your body’s recycling system. Useful for arthritis, swellings from injury and chronic fatigue. Since this massage uses light, repetitive pressures it is also a soothing stress reduction treatment.

Myofascial Release

Choose this treatment for any long term postural, joint or pain issues. It is advanced bodywork that increases your options for movement wherever you have restrictions. It also refines your awareness of how you currently move an area that may be uncomfortable. Myofascial release helps re-educate you to more ease. Clients are physically involved in their treatment and may include sitting, standing and walking as well as using the couch.

Scarwork

Scar tissue is often uneven with both hollows and bumps leaving many people with a dislike of a scar even though it may have been lifesaving. I specialize in C section and hysterectomy scars as well as scar work after breast cancer but all are worth treating as they can be tethered to underlying tissues..

Tai Chi

What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi, or Tai Chi Ch’aun to give it it’s full name, is movement based on the Chinese philosophy of yin and yang. It is both a meditative practice and a form of self defense.

“This exercise will lead many practitioners to health, happiness, and longevity. The defence is secondary”
Grandmaster Chang San-feng

Why try it?

Although Tai Chi has its origins in ancient China, it is relevant for people today. It’s slow pace and graceful movement counteracts our busy scheduled lives.

No matter what your age, male or female, you can practice Tai chi and feel its benefits. These usually include a more relaxed body and mind, helping the digestion, blood circulation, freeing joints and improving balance and maintaining health.

Never rains in Devon…

If the weather is unpleasant we will practice indoors though Tai Chi enthusiasts will try to be outside in all weathers to gain the benefit of natural energy.

There are many schools of Tai Chi and I follow Yang style as practised by Cheng Man Ching. In my teaching I tend to focus on gaining the health aspects with beginners such as posture, and as people gain experience I lead them into the more martial aspects of Tai Chi.

My teaching includes regular classes for people with differing needs so I offer Tai Chi to the able bodied, disabled, those with learning difficulties and long term health conditions. I have been playing with Tai Chi for over 20 years, teaching for at least 15, and am a fully insured, registered instructor with The Tai Chi Union of Great Britain.

Paradise Tai Chi

One to one teaching is £40 per hour. You can invite up to 3 friends to join with you for FREE.

You will learn a short form that you should know well enough to take home, play with and start to feel the benefit of Tai Chi in your everyday life.

To book Tai Chi please ring Pippa on 07889 532982.
