What time can we arrive and what time can we get into our Villa?

We always ask all customers to arrive between 2-4pm, but we endeavour to be ready at 1pm. If you are staying out of season or on a short break then please enquire before as you may be able to arrive sooner if the Villa isn’t booked.

On arrival we will welcome you in the bar with a glass of wine or lemonade, tell you what’s happening throughout the week and explain what we are all about!

You will need to pay for your fishing before you can get the keys to your Villa. Once you have paid for your budget ticket and booked any food nights or extras, you will be given a complimentary bottle of Zyggy’s Wine to take to your villa, then go to the reception where you’ll be shown to your villa.

Please Note – If you are arriving later than 4pm, you MUST let us know as soon as possible, but please remember that check in time is 2-4pm so you need to arrive in this time.

Does the Bar take Card Payments?

Currently no, only cash is accepted in the Bar but we are planning to take card payments in the near future.

Do we need cash on arrival for Fishing?

Yes, you will need to bring cash for your fishing budget ticket, or we can do cash back from the Tackleshop.

Are you open all year round?

We certainly are, everyday ALL year!

Do you do short breaks?

Yes we do. We offer short breaks between October through to March and sometimes April, please call us for a quote and see what deal we can do for you! We can do short breaks in the busy season but you’ll have to ring last minute and IF we have any late cancellations or availability then we can sort a short break for you.

Do you allow Camping and Caravans?

We don’t allow camping or caravans as we do not have the facilities to cater for that. We do offer night fishing to the public on our day ticket lakes and for non angling guests there is an extra charge. Have a look at the choice of our Day Ticket lakes to choose from.

Do you do Food all year round?

In the peak season from late April to the beginning of September we offer 4 Special Food Nights, normally on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays we serve food. Please enquire before your visit to see whats on offer. Please note that this service is not available out of season unless there is a high demand and then we may do it on special request. There are plenty of Pubs and Restaurants near by that we can recommend and in your Villa you will have a Information Booklet that will provide many helpful numbers and places to Eat Out at.

Do you allow Pets?

We are afraid we do not allow pets as we have our own territorial dogs, however we can recommend a fantastic local Boarding Kennel which we use ourselves. They are a family run company called ‘Bonnie Days Boarding Kennels’ and its a holiday for the dogs too, they won’t want to come home! They are based in Holsworthy so only a 15 Minute drive down the road. Here is their website – or ring Sue or Bruce on 01409 254028. Book ASAP as they are very popular!! A holiday for you and your dog/s!

Do you have Wifi?

YES we do! You can access the Wifi from the reception and now in the Bar! Just come to the reception and ask for our Wifi password and away you go! We are currently looking into getting Wifi in the Villas but it’s going to be a big job so watch this space!!

Do you provide Bedding and Towels?

We provide all bedding but you will need to bring your own towels.

Where is the nearest Super-Market?

There is a local convenience store down the road in Halwill Juction for the Bare necessities like Milk, Bread, Eggs, Bacon etc. For the bigger shop, the closest Super-Markets are in Okehampton and Holsworthy. Okehampton is about 15-20 minutes away and has a Large Waitrose, a Lidl and a Co-operative Super-Market. Holsworthy is only 15 minutes away and has a Waitrose and Co-op. For a Bigger Super-Market you are best going to Morrisons in Bude and make a day of it and go to the Beach as Bude is only a 25 minute drive and it has some beautiful beaches and some great shops!


Can anyone fish at Anglers Paradise?

Anglers Paradise itself, which has 12 Lakes in total, is EXCLUSIVE to residents only, we do not allow day tickets on any of these 12 Lakes. However we have a selection of Day Ticket Waters which are only across the road, and offer a very wide selection of angling too, have a look at our Day Ticket Lakes. You can still visit our Tackleshop and purchase your tickets, bait and of course get any advice on whats hot and whats not!

Is Fishing included within the Villa Price?

The Fishing is separate to the price you pay for the Villa. As we are a base for many that don’t fish, we don’t feel it’s fair to add onto the price if they are not fishing, so you pay for your budget ticket on arrival. We’ve never increased the price for 25 years! It is £20 for 1 Rod for the Week or £30 2 Rods for the week which covers you for 9 Lakes. The Specimen Carp Lake, Specimen Tench and Orfe Lake and the Koi Lake need to be booked separately and Night Fishing is also separate. Or you can pay daily which is £5 per day per rod (the budget ticket is a much cheaper way though!)

What Lakes are exclusive for residents only and can't be fished on a day ticket?

There are 12 Lakes which are ONLY for residents to fish and these Lakes are:

  • Main Carp Lake
  • Specimen Carp Lake
  • Specimen Tench
  • Orfe Lake
  • Octopussy Lake
  • Easy Access Lake
  • Koi Lake, Float Lake
  • Mystery Lake
  • Beginners Carp Lake
  • Tench Lake
  • Magic Lake
  • Pixie Lake.

Can you drive to the Lakes?

No you can’t. You can drive to the Easy Access Car Park and park there but we do not allow any vehicles down the Lakes under any circumstances.


When is the Final Balance due?

The Final Balance is due 8 Weeks before your holiday or before, the actual date will be on your booking form but you can pay as soon as you wish over the phone.

When do we get our Refundable Deposit back?

You will get your refundable deposit back normally on the Tuesday after your departure (unless you are staying on a short break, then the date will vary), if you paid by card then we will refund it back onto the card you paid the balance with unless told otherwise and if better for you we can send it to you by cheque. However if you would like to re-book then we can carry it over to your new booking and it will be less for you to pay when putting down the booking deposit.
